Director of Environmental Education

Job Overview: This person will develop, promote, coordinate and supervise the Environmental Education program at Camp Ewalu. This includes promoting and managing the use of the Ewalu Cooperative Course and arranging for maintenance of the course as needed. The E.E. Director also assists the Ewalu staff in other aspects of the overall ministry of Ewalu, including:

  • Retreat ministries
  • Summer program
  • Basic care of buildings and grounds
  • Promoting outdoor ministry and EE program

This full-time, salaried position will begin on or around August 1, 2010.

Ewalu is located on over 500 acres of land in the beautiful wooded hills of Northeastern Iowa. Ewalu offers year-round environmental education programs, 18 unique summer programs for youth in grades 2-12, and facility rental for retreats and conferences. Ewalu is a ministry of some 200 Lutheran churches in Eastern Iowa, serving people regardless of race, sex, age, religion, creed, or national origin. Fostering communities of Christian faith is our primary focus.
