Guest Speakers: Victor Collins will share about the art of beekeeping, including insights and Biblical references to bees and honey...

A representative from Osborn Nature Center will tell about the unique history of the Osborn site and describe their efforts to educate the public about the care of creation.

Lunch will be provided. Afternoon musical entertainment offered by Jesse Klosterboer of Strawberry Point.

Volunteer Weekend

April 30 - May 2, 2010

Help prepare Ewalu for the arrival of over 1000 youth at summer Bible camp! You, your family or groups from your church or community are invited to a weekend at camp helping with important work, and having fun!

Meals and lodging are provided for free. We are grateful for your helping hands in preparing, planning and praying for the summer season. All are welcome!

Wazzup With Supper?

March 27-28, 2010

A fun overnight retreat! For kids who are preparing to receive Holy Communion for the first time - and for kids who just want to learn more about the sacrament. Kids in grades 3-5 will enjoy games, music, a cookout and campfire, an optional sunrise nature hike, the ropes course and other cool activities. Camp in cabins or in the main lodge. We'll wrap up the weekend with worship on Sunday morning.

The highlight is a traditional Passover meal on Saturday night. It teaches about Holy Communion in a fun, unique way! Kids will learn more about Biblical traditions which give special meaning to the Lord's Supper.

Cost: only $40
Register by March 17
1 adult per 5 youth requested.
Registration: 10-10:30 a.m. on Saturday
Retreat concludes: 11 a.m. on Sunday

For youth in 6th - 9th grade. Cost is $75/youth, or $50/chaperone. For a $10 early discount for youth, mail registration form and $25 deposit by March 1. One adult chaperone per 10 youth is requested. 

Please plan to arrive on Friday between 8-8:30 p.m. The retreat concludes with a student-led worship service, which finishes at 11 a.m. Sunday morning. 

What to Bring: clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight,
two pair of shoes, a Bible... Get ready to explore the awesome life-changing love we have in Jesus Christ. :-)

Holiday Heritage Sampler

November 6, 2008

Have fun learning about our Christmas traditions. Come prepare for the holidays at this special Adult Enrichment Day!

Why is Santa Claus depicted as jolly and wearing red?  Did "The First Nowell" really originate in France?  How do you make lefse? You'll learn to make cultural Christmas treats and decorations. Sample holiday goodies, hear special presentations on Christmas traditions, and enjoy traditional narration and timeless music.
