Alpha: a time and place set aside each day to reflect on our faith in God

Alpha at the Outdoor ChapelAn important part of each day at Camp Ewalu is the time spent around God's Word.  Campers gather each morning for "Alpha" to share stories of faith, read scripture, sing, pray, and worship God together.

Alpha may happen at the Outdoor Chapel, around a campfire ring, on a bridge over the Maqouketa River, or even out in the middle of a prairie.  It's a time to focus on God and encourage one another to be faithful in living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Other "Alpha" moments happen throughout the day - through Bible study, prayer, quiet times, evening campfires, and cabin devotions.  God's Word is ever present in the daily rhythm of life at camp.  It is our hope and prayer that these daily practices would continue in the lives of campers after they leave Ewalu and return home.

Campfire on Pioneer PlainsStories of faith, devotions, Bible studies, and other camp moments are shared here as an encouragement in your daily walk of faith.  May you be renewed and inspired as you seek to live out your faith in Christ in your daily life.
