Capital Campaign
Update

Winter 2009-2010

The pledges to the campaign have now reached nearly $1.43 million, and gifts received have exceeded $1,202,000. The congregational phase of fund rasing has come to an end and we have a few more individuals to visit to see if we can erach the $1.5 million goal. A speial thanks to everyone who has participated in this exciting event.

From the gifts received thus far, we have been able to complete the following:

- New sand filter spetic system

- All campaign costs

- Geo-thermal wells for the new heating and cooling system at the Walnut Complex

- Trenching for the electrical, sewer and water for the Walnut Complex

- Framing, roofs and windows in several buildings in the Walnut Complex

- Installation of all new energy efficient windows in Cedar Lodge

- Building a more hospitable and erosion-resistant entrance road into the Ewalu mainsite

There are many exciting projects currently in the works with the goal of having them completed by April of 2010. The include:

- Installation of a new heating and cooling system in Hickory Lodge (office building).

- Energy efficiency projects in lodges, cabins and year-round staff housing.

- Completion of the new Sleeping Cabin with restrooms, meeting area and kitchnette.

- Completion of the additions and remodeling of the three existing Walnut cabins and lodge.

If you think your congregation has not yet become involved, please call the camp office for an update. We have staff members available for training of congregation leaders at any time. The training is simple and takes only a couple of hours. All materials and information to conduct a local campaign are available immediately - at no cost to the congregation. .

If you would like to make a major gift to this campaign, please contact Executive Director Dale Goodman or Development Director Paul Little at 563-933-4700.
